Manitou Springs Masters Swim Program

Ages 18+
Enjoy having a swim coach that will provide you with workouts, stroke improvement, and strength and conditioning.  A great cardio program for all swimming and fitness levels.  A program that will provide past swimmers, lap swimmers, beginner swimmers and Triathletes a great way to stay in shape. No competitive experience required.

Personal Training

Personal training is offered at the facility with Fran Kayton. Please contact her directly at the email below to coordinate a time that works best for you!

Fees:
1 hour personal training: $35 per person, $50 for couples

1 hour education and a workout routine: $45

1 hour learn how to use the machines: $35

Caliper body fat test: $25    

 

Core Fitness with Fran

Come join a group guided class utilizing body weight and weight room equipment!

Rules, Policies and Procedures

Facility Rules

1. All patrons must check in at the front desk before starting any activity in the building.
2. All sales are final. All refund requests must be approved by the management staff.
3. Refer to all the rules posted in each area before beginning activity in that area.
4. The locker rooms are gender specific. The Family/Gender Neutral locker room is available for use for participants when available.
5. The City of Manitou Springs and the Manitou Springs Pool and Fitness Center is not responsible for lost or stolen items. Patrons are encouraged to place personal items in a locker with a personal lock.
6. ADA Service Animals are allowed in the facility. Pets and emotional support animals are not permitted in the building.
7. All patrons are required to wear appropriate clothing based on the activity. Please refer to the posted rules in each area for more information.
8. No alcoholic beverages, drugs, or smoking/tobacco products, vaping, or anyone under the influence is allowed in the facility.
9. No glass containers are permitted in the facility.
10. Photography within the facility must be approved by management staff. The use of photographic equipment including, but not limited to, cameras, cell phone cameras, and video cameras is strictly prohibited.
11. No patron is permitted to carry or conceal weapons on the property.
12. Children under the age of 12 must always be under the supervision of a parent/guardian. The parent/guardian may not leave the child/ren unattended in the building at any time.
13. Inappropriate language, behavior and attire is not tolerated. If, in the opinion of the city staff, your language, behavior and attire is perceived as inappropriate, you will be requested to discontinue such language or behavior or to cover up any attire. If you decide not to comply with the city staff’s request, you will be required to leave the premises immediately.
14. Failure to follow any facility rules posted could result in loss of privileges and access to the facility and/or revocation of membership/punch card.
The management reserves the right to enforce any unwritten rules deemed necessary for the safety of our patrons.

Assumption of Risk Policy

1. Participants assume all risks and danger of personal injury arising from or related in any way to admission to the Manitou Springs Pool and Fitness Center and its facilities and including, but not limited to, the danger of being injured by equipment and other facility users.
2. By using the facility, all patrons agree to be bound by these rules and to release and further discharge the City of Manitou Springs and all its departments, officers and employees from all liability for claims related to use of the facilities.
3. All patrons further agree to abide by the policies of the City of Manitou Springs Pool and Fitness Center and the instructions of city personnel.
4. All patrons consent to the use of his or her image, without payment of consideration, in any news broadcasts, commercial broadcasts, advertising or promotional publicity for the City of Manitou Springs Pool and Fitness Center.

 

General Pool Rules

1. Sign in at the front desk when utilizing the swimming areas is required.
2. Swimming is only allowed when there is a lifeguard on duty.
3. Please remember to take a shower before entering the pools or spas per Colorado State Health Codes.
4. All swimmers must wear a swimsuit. T-shirts, cut-offs, sweatpants, etc. are not permitted. Swim wear must not have exposed metal or plastic, buttons, zippers, or tabs that could cause damage to the spa’s surface. Infants must wear swim diapers in addition to swimming suits. (Rubber pants over swim diaper recommended.)
5. Colored T-shirts are not allowed. ONLY white T-shirts are allowed (prints must be appropriate for the environment with small children) over a swimsuit.
6. ADA Service Animals are not allowed in the water. They may remain on deck next to the pool or spa areas.
5. No running, horseplay, or inappropriate behavior in the pool area.
6. No food, gum, drinks and tobacco products are allowed in the pool area.
7. Management must approve any toys, etc. before use. Only U.S. Coast Guard approved flotation devices are allowed in the pool areas. Inflatable floatation devices are NOT allowed at any time.
8. When entering the pool from the side, a feet first, forward facing approach is required. No diving into any area less than 9 feet deep.
9. Lap lane areas, kickboards, pull buoys and fins are for conditioning swimming and programs only.
10. Hanging or climbing on lane lines or lifelines is not allowed.
11. ADA accessible chair lifts are not to be sat in for use of a chair. They are to be used for assistance in and out of the pools. If use is needed, please ask a lifeguard for assistance.
12. Children under 6 years old must be accompanied in the water by a paying adult. The adult must be in direct contact with the child.
13. Patrons may be asked to take a swimming test before being allowed to swim in any area.
15. Swimming in diving areas is allowed only when authorized by the lifeguard.
16. No hanging on the basketball hoop. All patrons must be in the water when playing basketball.
17. No one with open sores, bandages, red/infected eyes or contagious illness will be
allowed to use the pool or spas.
18. Use of specific areas of the facility may be restricted due to aquatic programming and maintenance.

General Spa Rules

1. Please consult a healthcare provider before entering the spa.
2. Limit your soak time to 15 to 20 minutes at a time.
3. Children under 5 are not permitted to use the spa.
4. Pregnant women or any persons with a serious illness (heart disease, diabetes, etc.) should consult a healthcare provider before using the spa.
5. No food or colored drinks are allowed. Water in a sealable container is encouraged while using the spa.
6. When exiting the spa, please exit slowly to allow adequate time for your body to adjust from the warm water.
7. Personal music must be played only through headphones.
The management reserves the right to enforce any unwritten rules deemed necessary for the safety of our patrons.

Weight Room Rules

1. Sign in at the front desk when utilizing the weight and cardio room.
2. No children under the age of 14 are allowed in the weight and cardio room.
3. Youth under the age of 16 must be accompanied and supervised by an adult.
4. 14 and 15 year olds are only allowed to use cardio equipment and circuit weight machines.
5. Consult your physician before beginning any exercise program. Safe and proper use of equipment is required at all times.
6. Wear proper athletic shoes and clothing. Bare feet, socks without shoes, open toed shoes and jeans are not allowed. Clothing must not have exposed metal or plastic, buttons, zippers, or tabs that could cause damage to the equipment.
7. Do not wear bracelets, necklaces, or long earrings to avoid being caught in the equipment.
8. We recommend that participants with long hair should be tied back to avoid being caught in the equipment.
9. Use designated areas to hang jackets or gym bags.
10. Sealable water bottle only; no food, sodas, gum and tobacco products allowed.
11. Glass containers, alcohol, and smoking are prohibited.
12. Chalk is not allowed in this area.
13. Please inspect equipment prior to use. Please report broken or damaged equipment to the front desk and/or management staff.
14. Before using equipment make sure to read the instructions provided. Improper use of equipment may result in injury.
15. Please ask for assistance from city staff if you do not know how to use the equipment.
16. Be courteous and wipe off equipment when finished.
17. Please use a spotter when lifting free weights.
18. Be courteous to other patrons waiting while using equipment.
19. Return the seat and weight to the last users set up when sharing equipment between sets.
20. Limit your time to 20 minutes on all cardiovascular equipment when other participants are waiting.
21. Refrain from using loud, foul, or slanderous language. Avoid making loud sounds (banging weights, yelling, dropping dumbbells)
22. Do not move weight, stretching or cardio equipment from their proper place.
23. Do not sit on machines between sets.
24. No exercises may be done while standing on the exercise benches.
25. Re-rack free weights and return all other accessories to their proper locations.
26. Only authorized contractors are allowed to conduct personal training in this facility.

Kiddie Pool Rules

Seasonal Pool:  Summer Months
1. Swimmers under 48” tall are required to swim with an adult in a ratio of one adult per one child. Adults must always be within arm’s reach of their child.
2. Absolutely no running, jumping or horseplay in or out of the Kiddie Pool area.
3. Absolutely no shallow water headfirst entries in the Kiddie Pool.
4. Kiddie Pool is for children 12 years old and under. Adult supervision is required.
5. No climbing or hanging from any of the water feature attractions and stairs or rails.
6. No chairs of any type are allowed in the Kiddie Pool area. All chairs must be on the deck area.
